According to the Bolivar County Sheriff’s Department, deputies and officers from the Rosedale Police Department responded at approximately 2:08 p.m. on June 11, 2026, after receiving reports of shots fired in the area of Rosedale High School.

Upon arrival, investigators located a light blue Chevrolet Tahoe in a wooded area behind Rosedale Elementary School. Authorities reported that two individuals were inside the vehicle. Miltorious Britton was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second occupant of the vehicle was not physically injured.

Investigators later determined that the shooting is believed to have occurred in the parking lot of Rosedale High School before the vehicle was discovered behind the elementary school. Authorities have not publicly released information regarding the events leading up to the shooting or a possible motive.
