EASLEY, S.C. — Family, friends, and members of the Pickens County community are mourning the sudden loss of 69-year-old David Brian Gossett Sr., who died following a tragic crash involving a lawn mower on Saturday morning.
According to the Pickens County Coroner’s Office, the incident occurred around 9:15 a.m. on Jim Hunt Road near Highway 183 in Easley. Emergency responders were dispatched after reports of a serious collision involving a vehicle and a lawn mower in the roadway.
Investigators said the lawn mower was in the roadway when it was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The impact caused the operator to be ejected, resulting in critical injuries. Authorities have not yet determined why the lawn mower was in the roadway, and the circumstances remain under active investigation.
David Brian Gossett Sr. was transported to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment but was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.
